Who's Who?

Our staff team are second to none! Why not take a look to see who works where across our school?

The Sports Premium is extra funding provided by the UK government to primary schools to improve the quality and accessibility of physical education (PE) and sport. This initiative ensures that all children, regardless of their background, can participate in sports and enjoy the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

Who Receives the Funding?

Primary Schools: All maintained primary schools, academies, and free schools with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students are eligible for this funding.

How Much Funding Do Schools Get?

Each eligible school receives a lump sum of £16,000 plus an additional £10 per pupil, which varies based on school size. This funding is given annually.

How Can Funding Be Used?

Schools can use the Sports Premium in various ways, such as:

  • Enhancing PE Curriculum: Hiring qualified sports coaches to help improve the quality of PE lessons.
  • Training Staff: Providing professional development for teachers to enhance their skills in delivering quality PE.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Funding for after-school sports clubs and activities to encourage participation beyond school hours.
  • Equipment and Resources: Purchasing new equipment and supplies to support different sports.
  • Competitions and Events: Covering costs for entering local, regional, or national competitions and events.
  • Encouraging Healthy Lifestyles: Initiatives that promote a healthier lifestyle among students, such as sports festivals and workshops.

Impact on Children

The goal of the Sports Premium is to:

  • Increase participation in physical activities and sports among children.
  • Improve physical fitness and health.
  • Develop teamwork, leadership, and social skills through sports.
  • Foster a lifelong love for physical activity.

Schools are required to report how they are using the Sports Premium funding and its impact. This ensures transparency and allows parents to see the benefits their children are receiving. Our Plans and Reports are shown below.
